Assistant Professor in Childhood Education (start date: May 2010)
Requirements: Qualifications: Earned doctorate in elementary education or a closely related field. Consideration will be given to ABD candidates in the dissertation/defense stage. Minimum of three years classroom teaching experience as a certified elementary school teacher. Preferred qualifications include college and public school teaching experience in urban settings with diverse populations of children; skill in the use of technology to support teaching and learning, and an established scholarly record. Assistant/Associate Professor in Secondary Mathematics Education
Requirements: Qualifications: A doctorate in mathematics education or a related field with mathematics education focus (consideration will be given to ABD candidates in the late dissertation/defense stage); minimum of three years experience of teaching mathematics in grades 7-12 in urban settings with diverse student populations; knowledge of national and New York State curricular standards and assessments; evidence of effective college level teaching and experience in pre-service or in-service teacher education; skill in the use of technology to support teaching and learning; a focused program of future research and scholarship in secondary mathematics education. Director of Institutional Development Requirements: Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) plus five years of related experience and demonstrated success with major gifts, annual giving and special events. Experience in higher education and expertise with alumni/donor database software a plus. Ability to write and speak persuasively about the College a must.
