MCNY is searching for a full-time faculty member to teach graduate courses and supervise student teachers in the accelerated 12-month MSED program in childhood education (grades 1-6). Additional responsibilities include engaging in scholarly and professional activities; performing college and department service including being assigned responsibilities to assist in the coordination of programs; assisting with NCATE accreditation reviews and new program development; participating in new student recruitment, application and admissions processes; developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with public school professionals; and seeking out and applying for grants. Requirements: Qualifications: Earned doctorate in elementary education or a closely related field. Consideration will be given to ABD candidates in the dissertation/defense stage. Preferred qualifications include college and public school teaching experience in urban settings with diverse populations of children; skill in the use of technology to support teaching and learning, and an established scholarly record. Metropolitan College of New York’s School of Management seeks an Assistant Professor of Finance for its Business Program which offers associate, bachelors and MBA degrees. Teaching responsibilities include economics and finance at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The appointment is available beginning Fall 2009. Successful candidates will hold the Ph.D. or DBA in a management-related field, e.g., finance or economics.

Assistant/Associate Professor in Secondary Mathematics Education

Director of Institutional Development
Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY), located in the vibrant TriBeCa/SoHo area of downtown Manhattan, invites applications for the position of Director of Institutional Development. MCNY serves a commuter, predominantly non-traditional adult student body and is committed to social justice and a unique educational approach that combines classroom learning with constructive projects in the workplace and community. The Director of Institutional Development will embrace and effectively articulate MCNY’s mission and values. Reporting to the President, the Director is a senior level administrator, works in close collaboration with the President, serves on the President’s cabinet, participates in strategic planning, and acts as a liaison with the Board of Trustees. The Director is responsible for all College fund raising activities, including: collaboration with the Board of Trustees to identify sources of support; cultivation of individual donors; solicitation of foundation and corporate support; oversight of special events; and determination of annual fund raising goals based on identified needs. The Director will work with Career Services to develop alumni relations and serve as the primary interface with the College’s grant writing agency and external representatives to government entities.







Requirements: Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) plus five years of related experience and demonstrated success with major gifts, annual giving and special events. Experience in higher education and expertise with alumni/donor database software a plus. Ability to write and speak persuasively about the College a must. Facilities Technician
Reporting to the Administrative Director of MCNY, the Facilities Technician maintains, services, improves and supports the facilities and equipment of MCNY. The Technician is responsible for general maintenance including carpentry, construction, painting, and masonry. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical and HVAC air conditioning problems; plumbing; cleaning duties; assembling, repairing and moving furniture and equipment; rearranging rooms for special events; and general cleaning of offices and restrooms.

Requirements: Minimum requirements: High School or Tech School degree plus three years of related experience. Ability to use hand and power tools; plumbing and electrical experience; familiarity and experience with HVAC systems. Valid driver’s license. Must be able to read instructions and specifications.
