FAQs

Can I apply to MCNY over the Internet?
Of course. Simply click on Apply Online and follow the instructions. Online applications are simple to complete.

Is there an application deadline?
There is no application deadline but students are encouraged to apply as early as possible to allow ample time for visa issuance. All degree programs begin early January, early May, and early September.

I am an international MCNY student and am interested in working. Can I get authorization to work?
Our philosophy of Purpose Centered Education means you learn by doing. At MCNY, employment is a component of the educational experience; therefore, our program allows students to work part-time while pursuing their studies full time. MCNY has the authority to grant students CPT (curriculm practicum training - during their 2nd semester, 5 months attendance requirement) during the time of study at the college. The College's Career Service Office assists students in exposing themselves to great internship, CPT and OPT opportunities. This becomes possible because of the strong educational relationships the College develops with employers.

* Students may work full time during summer semesters
** Students may work full time for a period of 12 months upon graduating from a degree program (OPT)

How can I get a student VISA?
Information about student Visas can be found by visiting the following website: www.unitedstatesvisas.gov

Do I have to take the TOEFL?
Students whose native language is not English are required to submit the results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the IELTS and receive a score of 61 IBT for undergraduate and 80 IBT for graduate admission. All academic records should be accompanied by certified translation if they are presented in a language other than English. Brief course descriptions of subjects successfully completed (as well as an explanation of the grading system) should also be included with credentials. The College recommends that international students contact the International Educational Authority to evaluate foreign college study.

You can request to have your TOEFL score or IELTS report sent directly to MCNY by requesting ETS send those scores to score recipient number 2157 MCNY (formerly Audrey Cohen College).

Note: This school is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students.
