Metropolitan College of New York
The Master of Science in Education - Mathematics 7-12

Transfer Credits and Advanced Standing

A maximum of 6 graduate credits may, if pertinent to the course study, be applied toward meeting the requirements of the master's degree. Approved transfer credits are not recorded as part of the grade point average. Any application of transfer credit must have the written approval of the Program Director before the prospective student begins the program. Credits may be transferred provided they have been:

  • Taken in an accredited graduate program;
  • Completed within the last five years;
  • Completed with a B or better;
  • Comparable in content to courses offered by the MS in Education (Childhood 1-6) program.
  • Completed separate from a previously earned graduate degree.

Permission to transfer credits must be requested in writing at the time of admission along with a separate copy of official transcripts, a copy of the college bulletin course description. All must be submitted together to the Program Director.

Since the MS in Education (Math 7 - 12) follows a comprehensive cohort model course of study, Advanced Standing status will not be granted.
