New York State Mathematics Content Specialty Test (CST) Certification Examination

The purpose of the Mathematics Content Specialty Test (CST) is to assess the knowledge and competencies of prospective secondary level teachers. There is one version of subject assessment for Mathematics in New York. The Mathematics CST (004) exam is a 4 hour exam consisting of approximately 90 multiple-choice questions and one constructed (written) response assignment.

The Mathematics (004) exam emphasizes comprehension in Mathematical Reasoning and Communication; Algebra; Trigonometry and Calculus; Measurement and Geometry; Data Analysis, Statistics and Discrete Mathematics.
