New York State Teacher Certification Exam (LAST)

The Content Specialty Test is a component of the New York State Teacher Certification Examinations (NYSTCE). Offered in specific subjects, the CST typically consists of multiple-choice questions and a written assignment. The CSTs in Languages other than English and Music include taped listening and/or speaking components and a written assignment. The purpose of the test is to assess knowledge and skills in the subject of the certificate sought.

Online Teacher Test Prep Courses

CertEd offers three different online courses: one for the LAST, ATS-W, and Content Specialty Test (Math). The courses are designed to provide you with strategies, and test practice in preparation for taking the teacher certification exams. The courses utilize audio graphic lectures and time-controlled practice tests. The online practice tests simulate the actual NYSTCE exams.

  2. MAIL: Print a Course Registration Form and fill out your contact information including a credit card number or a check in the amount of $89 made payable to Metropolitan College of New York. Mail to: Metropolitan College of New York , 431 Canal Street , New York , NY 10013-1919, Attention: Bursar's Office. Be sure to include your e-mail address on the registration form so that a password may be e-mailed to you allowing you to access the course.
