Welcome to MCNY
Located at the crossroads of two of Manhattan’s most exciting neighborhoods, Tribeca and Soho, we are in the midst of great restaurants and galleries and there is always plenty to see and do. Plus, we’re easy to get to because so many subways stop within a few blocks.
MCNY is a modern urban campus with great facilities and an exceptionally vibrant atmosphere. We have a diverse student population which includes a significant international component. This main campus includes over thirty classrooms, a Computer Labs, a Library, and a Student Lounge.
In addition to all the classes, there is an array of other events and activities taking place throughout the year including - gallery shows at our very own Next Gallery, Career Fairs, Academic Conferences, Urban Dialogue Guest Speaker Series, Graduation Dance and Cruise, and alumni get-togethers. Check out the Today section on our Homepage and Special Events section for more information.
There are many exciting initiatives underway at the College. We are continuing an exciting renovation and expansion program of MCNY. The College’s main campus is expanding onto the ground and 11th floors and increasing its square footage by 40 percent – from 87,000 to 120,000 square feet.
The purpose of the renovation is not only to provide improved facilities but enhanced services for current and future students. There will be many significant improvements throughout MCNY Manhattan. These include:
The new entrance
The MCNY Lobby
- A New, Dedicated Entrance – In contrast to the lobby that the College currently shares with other organizations at its main campus, a prominent, high-visibility, entrance on Canal Street, between Varick and Hudson Streets, will be constructed for the exclusive use of the MCNY community. This entrance will display the College’s unique identity, and will beautify and revitalize a block where bustling businesses once stood but closed after 9/11. MCNY’s construction will also spur economic renewal on Canal Street with the addition of new businesses to serve the College's students.
State-of-the-Art Conference Center
A Spacious Lobby – MCNY’s lobby will be accessed through the College’s new entrance. This comfortable area will accommodate students while they are waiting to meet with enrollment and registration staff and student financial services advisors, and will provide a pathway to all College facilities. The lobby will also have Electronic Information Boards to provide students with important College announcements.
One-Stop Enrollment Services Center – MCNY’s new Student Enrollment Services Center will provide a "one stop" experience where students will receive streamlined, personalized student support. The Center will house modern offices for admissions, student financial services, bursar and registrar. It will also provide a reception area, seating for students, twenty-eight staff offices, a conference room, and computer kiosks.
A Multi-Purpose Area that will serve as a State-of-the-Art Conference Center and Auditorium for Public and Student Events – MCNY's new conference center and auditorium will have the capacity to seat over 200 people. Events for students and the community, such as the Urban Dialogues series, will be presented in this spacious area. In addition to a conference center and auditorium, this area will have many purposes including serving as classroom space.
A New Home for the School for Business - MCNY’s School for Business will have a dedicated home on the 11th floor. The School for Business is recognized for its exceptional curriculum that integrates cutting-edge global business education with liberal arts, communications and technological applications.
State-of-the-art "Smart" Classrooms – The School for Business will incorporate 15 fully equipped multimedia "smart" classrooms into its new facility. By fully integrating technology into classroom instruction, MCNY will provide students with the skills needed to excel in the workplace.
Wireless Network – The entire 11th floor, including all classrooms, student enclaves, and offices, will be connected to the College’s wireless network. Students, faculty, and staff can access the network from any point on the floor.
Study Enclaves – MCNY’s students will have dedicated spaces where they can work quietly on coursework, conduct group projects, meet with faculty members, or sit in quiet reflection.
Faculty Offices – Full-time School for Business faculty members will have individual offices that will better enable them to plan their curriculum and meet with students.
12th and 14th Floor Renovations – The spaces occupied by the Audrey Cohen School for Human Services and Education and the School for Public Affairs and Administration will be modernized and expanded. Relocating the School for Business on the 11th floor will also provide MCNY with space on the 12th and 14th floors to expand Career Services and Student Services offices, faculty offices, the library and Computer Labs.
Security System Upgrades – MCNY will continue to implement security upgrades to maintain student and staff safety during and following the renovation and expansion. The College will add security personnel and convert its current system to a digital camera system.
We anticipate that all of our students will derive great benefit from these renovations. Many have already been completed. They are all scheduled to be completed this year.
